So, my entire life I've suffered with sinus infections and seasonal allergies. It turns out, my son has the same allergies. But this year we've finally licked it. Not only have I found a way to cure an infection naturally, I've tried a tested natural remedy that's alleviated the allergy symptoms before they can cause the infection. Are you ready?
Nettle Leaf Tea.
Organic, of course, conventionally grown tea is pesticide-laden :(
2-3 cups of nettle leaf tea daily, along with no processed sugar, our plant-based diet, and some extra Vitamin C supplementation (a natural antihistamine) has made our summer/early fall so much better! Luckily, my son loves the tea, but we also add peppermint to it sometimes just to change things up.
Which is ALSO an allergy fighter! I'm so grateful for this food that is TRULY medicine.
(All those OTC allergy meds have proven to be toxic over time).
If an infection does set in, xylitol nasal spray, and 1 drop each of peppermint, eucalyptus, thyme and rosemary EO's inhaled 1-2 times daily works amazingly well. No good-gut-bacteria-killing antibiotics needed!
Homeopathy is also a safe alternative. But finding a match is a little like a puzzle...there are so many options :) Good thing I enjoy a challenge!
Any other suggestions? I'm always looking for more ways to combat the post nasal drip and sinus pain.....
