This little phrase (there's even an Instagram Page with the same name) tumbles through my head often these days. Scientific research continues to prove our fast-paced, busy-worshipping society is making us miserable. One of my favorite outcomes from our search for slower living has been my 8-yr-old's passion for drawing. Comics, animals, scenery, he loves to "sketch" anything and everything. And he's GOOD! Having no artistic ability myself, I'm stunned by the symmetry and character he is able to accomplish in each one. But, most importantly, we discovered this love because we had time to. Because his days aren't filled with structured activity, he was able to continue to pursue his love for art. He's spent hundred of hours in the last few months doing nothing but. And I find that to be a huge win for our purposeful, slow, homeschooling adventure.
